Conclusion
This study suggests that the biofiltration system is effective in removing hydrogen sulfide from contaminated air stream. Experimental results indicated that complete H2S removal can be achieved at H2S concentration 200 ppmv using total filter height of 1.2 m. In addition, the mixture of compost, organic fertilizer, wood chips and municipal wastewater sludge performed well as filter media in the treatment of hydrogen sulfide gas.
