You are incorrect what I said was the files were deleted after 13:30. I told you the files were there before one of my team went to lunch around 11:30 Bangkok time and when they came back they were gone. I first contacted you at 13:23 to discuss this emergency. Before that time my team were investigating the situation which is the activity you have drawn attention to below. The information you have provided shows my team active on the system nothing more.
To your question of who I think deleted these files, that does not matter. It is only what we can categorically prove that counts. However I see from your last comment that it is your view that this was a result of FIS activity. As I say this cannot be proven, so rather form a view with incomplete information, I will not jump to any conclusions. I reiterate what I have said from the beginning, my goal from this investigation was to ensure we learn from this. I know I have.
What I do know is that my team spent all of Friday afternoon, one of whom was working whilst on vacation, investigating this issue and trying to recover the data. Collectively they invested a lot of personal time over the weekend, to recover this situation. Furthermore FIS paid for the tool to recover the data. There has been no credit given by BBL for this effort, which has saved both FIS and BBL a lot of rework.
I can only work with the information your team are willing to share with me. Even if you did provide further information, I would have to consider what you would be sharing and if this would shed any further light on this investigation. There is no guarantee that it would help us reach a conclusion.
My team are also very busy on this project so they will not be spending time investigating BBL systems, and will continue to focus on the development of the FIS code.
The reason I pointed about the CAT command is that your previous note infers that my team were editing files for a reason. I shared this information to point out that this does not mean an edit was performed, which you accept in your last note.
I have no details of what housekeeping you do or do not do on the Dev environment; this is not part of the FIS remit for this project. This is why we expected BBL to be performing back-up and other housekeeping on that environment. If you don’t then, that is your prerogative.
