Turo pumps with large passage
A vertical Turo Cantilever pump conveys coating waste water with dyestuff and loading material. The pump sealing is extremely difficult to achieve as the fluid is very viscous; Standard submersible pumps regularly experienced serious damage to the mechanical seals. With the installation of the Egger pumps these problems are now resolved. The dry running secure and maintenance-free Turo pump has been working without failure since 1997.
This vertical Vortex pump feeds a turbo separator. The fluid contains 3.5% of wastepaper and includes wire and plastic film. The fluid is discharged straight from the pulper. The pump was installed in 2002, replacing a pump with belt drive. The pump is space-saving and secure because of its vertical design, dry running capability and hydrodynamic sealing.
This horizontally mounted Vortex pump conveys the fluid to the Combisorter. This separates rejects, parts of synthetic material and other impurities from the fluid. The very high concentration of synthetic material has to be removed. Ordinary non-clogging pumps are not suitable for this application, as the impurities would cause blocking.
Two Cantilever Vortex pumps convey the waste water in the plant. They have a nominal passage of 150 mm and a dry running capability.
In the sewage treatment plant a Turo pump is used for the recirculation of returned sludge.
The Turo pumps are preferred for handling high solids content material and difficult operating conditions. Ordinary pulp pumps have been found to experience problems with obstruction or have sealing damage caused by the difficult nature of the fluid.
