This study is conducted by ANSYS workbench simulation software. In this study,
for each brick model, hot and cold surfaces of the brick and heat transfer time are
chosen to be 45 C, 22 C and 5 h, respectively. It was considered that the lateral
surfaces of the composite brick are insulated very well not to allow any heat leakage
and that heat passes the block only one direction. The thermal properties of pumice
and EPS used in the study are given in Table 1. Finally, at the end of 5 h heat increase
occurring on the cold surface of the composite brick was measured. Heat increase
on the cold surface, block weight and total heat flux of the composite bricks
are given in Table 3 and Figs. 6a, 6b, 7a, and 7b.
