• Mount readers securely so that they are not disturbed, bumped, or
damaged during regular business operations.
• Leave 5 to 6 inches of clearance on all sides of the reader, except on
the bottom of a reader that has shock-absorbing mounts (the rubber
feet attached to the bottom of most interrogators). This clearance is
necessary in order to avoid cable strain when plugging cables into the
reader, especially if you run them out of the box through conduit with
the rest of the cables.
