Conclusion
National Policy on Education (2004) described
secondary education as the education children receive
after primary education and before the tertiary stage.
The broad goals of secondary education include to
prepare individual for useful living within the society; and
higher education. To achieve the objectives, there is
need for effective management of disciplinary problems
among secondary school students. It was discovered
that students’ misbehavior is a prevailing problem
affecting schools not only in Jalingo metropolis but also
across many towns in Taraba state. Students’
misconduct in the classroom interferes with teaching
and learning and is thought to be precursor to later
school dropout and similar negative social outcomes.
