Students also completed confidential summative self-assessment
ratings at the end of the examination. One set of
ratings involved global self-assessments of general clinical skills (e.g., history-taking, physical examination, communication,
and counseling skills). Another set of ratings pertained
to each procedure. Students were instructed to estimate their
score in each area using the same 100-point interval grading
scale. Although participation was voluntary, 98% of the students
responded.
