Moreover, the study ultimately intends to discover implications and recommendation on how Japanese and Thai can work harmoniously and efficiently.
This study was accomplished through the review of preceding research and literature available in form of online journal as well as textbooks. Also, individual and focus group interview with Japanese managers who are working in Thailand in various industries were conducted in order to obtain insightful information based on participants’ experiences.
The results of this study are mostly aligned with previous research and literature reviewed with some new ideas given by participants. The results revealed that majority of problems and difficulties derived from cultural differences which resulted in different characteristics and ways of doing things. The most effective way to overcome cultural barriers is that both parties need to gain as much knowledge on the other culture in order to understand the reason behind behavior and thought of the others. Also, respect to each other and adaptation is required from both parties in order to achieve smooth operation and become dynamic team in crossed cultural workplace.
