Henna is a natural pigment extracted from the leaves of a plant lawsonia inermis. The plant is 8 to 10 feet high, and its leaves are dried and then crushed to make henna powder. The natural dyeing properties found in henna are tannis. Henna grows in hot climates and can be found in most middle eastern countries such as lran, pakistan, stria, persia, morocco, egypt and India. Indian henna is found to be the best for mehndi, a temporary tattoo.
