However, NCATE, (2002) identifies ICT as a part of all subject matter teachers’ knowledge, not as the specific responsibility of an ICT teacher or technology teacher.
This means that NCATE accepts educational technologies as a subject domain, but requires that its content should be known by all teachers.
Therefore, a specific content needs to be taught at public schools in the US.
