In the gas sensing applications, the fabrications of the nanostructured based thin films are of the great
interest to improve the sensing performance. In this project, Pd/WO3 nanorod thin films were deposited
via PLD technique on quartz substrate and tested towards H2 with concentrations well below its lower
explosive level (LEL) threshold of 4%. The Pd/WO3 nanorod films offer promising potential for optical
sensing of H2 due to the high surface area. It improves substantially the surface-H2 interaction and hence
