To liaise with suppliers in all areas of purchasing procedures i.e. deliveries, quotations.
To negotiate with suppliers in order to get the best quotations without affecting the expected quality levels.
To nominate new suppliers and review existing suppliers.
To obtain the best payment terms.
To prepare all Purchase Orders and Capital Expenditure requests as per the Purchasing Policy.
To communicate effectively and provide follow up on the expected date of arrival of goods ordered to the Department Heads concerned.
To prepare weekly / monthly purchasing status reports with estimate date of delivery.
To supervise all stores personnel.
To coordinate with the Male’ Supply Officer in regards to Customs Clearance and supplies transportation to the resort.
Responsible for proper filing system of the Purchasing Department.
To assist in the year end stock take procedures.
Professional Qualifications
Diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
Length and type of experience
Extensive experience as Purchasing Manager for Hotels and Resorts.
Preferably has gained pre-opening resort experience.
