Sunk: on 7 April in attacks by aircraft of TF 58; hit by one bomb and one torpedo, then jack-knifed and sank, 150 miles southwest of Nagasaki (30-47 N, 128-08 E); 100 dead and 45 wounded; HATSUSHIMO rescued 257 survivors, including Commander Maekawa.
