After our (most pleasant) conversation last Saturday I got to thinking about what you were saying about how a person should be local to a loyal business that does right by them. You’ve certainly done that for me—and I think it’s time this local business shows loyalty to one of its best customers.
I remember the first time you called to ask about our catering services for your weekly ladies’ luncheon. Work was busy then, but you were desperate as your previous catering company had backed out at the last minute, and I found some time to help you.
Boy, am I glad I did.
It’s not even about the money, Gladys, though I won’t say that hasn’t been great. Because I only have one location and can’t compete with many of the bigger chains, I have to rely on word of mouth.
And you’ve helped us accomplish that. I’d say fully 10% of our business comes from your referrals, and those are just the ones who think to tell us! Things would certainly be a lot tighter around here without your wonderful patronage.
I’ll stop gushing here, but we truly do appreciate what you’ve done for us. Keep this letter, because you’ve earned 10% off all future catering orders.
A community has to take care of itself, after all.
