The regression results indicate that the larger
forest companies tend to rely more on wages, and
especially salaries, than do the smaller ones. The
latter are more likely to opt for the piece-rate
payment scheme. Evidence for this is provided in
both Tables 2 and 3 by the positive effect on
time-based payment methods of companies whose
stock is publicly traded. It is also evident from the
