Steiner is a company who produce and sell electronic part to major world automobile company,
each month salesman travels around the region they are responsible with; to present the
customer, products they have; each product have various model. Once the customer is
interested to purchase products they sell, salesman shall create a price quotation and send to
the customer to inform quoted price.
The process starts when salesman create a new price quotation and submit to his regional sale
manager to get approval however, the quoted price can be deviated from the listed price; in
order to do so, salesman must create price deviation and submit it together with price
quotation, in this case, approval from the product manager is required from headquarter office.
After the quotation are approved, it later e-mail to the customer by business administrator.
This process has been done manually; the documents are passed along the process by fax which
is difficult to monitor and track down. Therefore they are looking for an application system that
can handle the flow of this process automatically and reduce using paper by replacing with
electronic format document.
The company is currently store all customer details on CRM (Customer Relationship
Management) system however there aren’t still central data source to store product’s
information.
The company’s headquarter is located at Aerzen, Germany as well as their data center. There
are 4 sales teams, each team are assigned to work at different regional offices located at
Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Berlin.
