The plant operates on the basis of a cooperation contract between the Insured and Bangna Starch Co., Ltd. The Insured invested in the construction and operation of the waste treatment plant. Waste (water and cassava solid waste) from Bangna Starch Co., Ltd. is transferred for treatment at the Insured's plant without any charge and under anaerobic conditions of the plant, organic pollutants in the waste are degraded by microbes producing biogas, which has methane and carbon dioxide as its components. Biogas is used as a fuel for generators to produce electrical power which is sold to EGAT.
As mentioned above, there are two types of waste treatment process at the premises. A description of each process is provided below;
