The coastal people reacted to this news with despair. They did
not want an EIA since they knew that the breakwaters would not
affect the surrounding environment. They said, “We are not
denying that environmental impact assessment is good, but please
understand our situation. Every time big waves hit the shore like
bombs, our hearts are filled with fear and worry. Each bang echoes
in our ears. Waiting another month is like another year. If the IEE
indicates no negative impact, why do you still want an EIA?”.
