A closed-circuit television system, the
Circon model MV9100, is designed specifically
for microscopic examination up
to 3000 pov^er. The system is built within
a single console and includes the following:
a high-resolution camera, a solidstate
monitor, a remote-focus camera
platform, and a fiber optic illumination
system. Accessories are available and
plug into the console.
The most important advantage of the
TV system over a conventional microscope
are: faster inspection and measurement;
less operator eye strain and
subsequent error; image magnification via
optics and electronics providing more
than 40 percent greater working distance
and depth of field than is possible with an
optical microscope; facilities for several
observers to view the subject simultaneously;
and provision for interfacing
video tape recorders and large monitors
with the console.
