3. Results
3.1. General observation
Although
Diadema
are known as nocturnal feeders and hide in
crevices during day time elsewhere (
Lawrence and Hughes-Games,
1972; Tuya et al., 2004b
), they were often seen on exposed coral
surface in our surveys conducted during day time (
Fig. 3
). Fresh tis-
sue lesion and loss of coral skeleton (
Figs. 2 and 3
) were evident in
many coral genera at the northeastern sites.
