The method requires excessive post-acquisition processing
and often lacks information from the upper few meters of the subsurface.
Also, shear-wave reflection profiles do not provide direct Vs
values along the profile, but rather variations in seismic travel times
and amplitudes. The only way to derive Vs measurements from shearwave
reflection profiles is to map the 1D stacking velocity functions
after converting them into interval velocities. We call this type of Vs
estimation in this study as stacking-derived interval velocity images.
