Abstract
Organic wood and wood composite materials are routinely connected with inorganic fasteners such as nails, screws, bolts, dowels, nail-plates and bonded-in rods in construction applications. However in civil and general engineering wood and wood composites are frequently combined with metal alloys, composite materials and other engineering materials to produce hybrid structures. The chapter explores the integration of wood composites with other engineering materials.
