For example, reading and writing are intimately intertwined. Without reading,writing would be impossible and, likewise,writing enhances reading skills and knowledge.
In short,when children practise and improve in one aspect of literacy,other aspects are also usually enhanced.
Although we discuss constituents of literacy separately in this book,the close,reciprocal relationship between these elements must always be kept in mind.
