After performing all the above mentioned steps, CORINE Land Cover 2006 data set were applied to identify the parcels
where certain restrictions might still apply, such as agriculture lands located in former military territories [14]. The
CORINE Land Cover 2006 is available only in the raster format. Therefore, the desired six land cover categories (see Table 1) were reclassified as number ‘0’ and the remaining land categories with undesirable features as number ‘1’. Number ‘0’ represented 100% of the desirable territory and number ‘1’ represented 100% of undesirable type of land cover. The reclassified CORINE land cover types were overlayed with the newly created final layer named “Agricultural lands meeting all the criteria” to identify the parcels where certain restrictions might still apply. After overlaying the final layer of the selected suitable parcels for SRWC with the reclassified CORINE 2006 land cover types, we identified areas where agricultural land was completely (100%) covered by undesirable land cover categories that would limit SRWC production. No tax parcels were removed under this step. This information was used only to identify the potential area were certain limitations for the establishment of SRWC might apply. The polder territory data set was used to identify the
remaining 27 polders and the total amount of suitable agricultural land area for SRWC located within these polders. No tax parcels were removed under this procedure.
