Through its subsidiary Duratex Florestal Ltda. (previously named Duraflora S.A.), the Company is the owner of eucalyptus and pine forest reserves, which are primarily utilized as raw materials for producing wood panels, floors and components, and also for sale to third parties. These reserves guarantee supplies to the factories, and also protect the Company against the risk of future wood price increases. Integrated with the manufacturing facilities, these reserves together with a supply network, provide the Company with a high degree of self-sufficiency in terms of wood supplies.
As at December 31, 2013 Duratex Florestal Ltda. (previously named Duraflora S.A.), had roughly 139,500 hectares of planted areas (December 31, 2012: 140,200 hectares), in the States of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio Grande do Sul
