Regarding the second practical lesson (about the pelvic zone), the mean value and standard deviation of the second posttest scores were 6.08 1.4 for the experimental group and 5.37 1.2 for the control group, see the right graph of Fig. 7. According to the t-test result, it a significant difference was found between the two groups. The mean difference between the groups was 0.7 (95% CI: 0.3–1.37) in a range of 0–8. This suggests a small increase of about 8% of learning achievement for the experimental group (considering that 100% corresponds to all questions answered correctly). In this case (practical lesson about the pelvic zone) the 3D m-learning tool had a better learning outcome than the traditional methods, but with less effect compared to the first practical lesson..
There was no difference by gender (p ¼ 0.48) in knowledge of pelvic zone anatomy (second posttest).
Table 4 shows the percentage of students who correctly answered each question for both groups. In this second posttest, students in the experimental group obtained higher percentage of correct answers in questions 2, 3, 4, 5 y 8, lower percentages in questions 1 and 7 and the same percentage as the control group in question 6.
