Specificity is the ability of self-report to detect the absence of hearing loss when it is absent in audiometry. To assess misclassification percent false positive and percent false negative as defined by Fleiss (1981) was sued rather than the component of sensitivity and specificity. The percent false positive is the proportion of participants who reported hearing loss and did not have hearing impairment by audiometry. The percent false negative is the proportion of participants who reported that they have no hearing loss and had hearing impairment by audiometry.
