Coconut palms usually have just one upright trunk with non-showy, light tan bark. They can can become up to 60 feet tall and 25 feet wide at the top. Cocos nucifera also comes in smaller dwarf varieties that grow just 10 to 15 feet tall. Coconut trees have feathered fronds with evergreen leaves that range in size from 18 inches to 3 feet. During the spring, they produce white blooms, although they are not very showy. Coconut fruits are 6 to 12 inches long with green husks and hard brown coverings.
