The health-related components of physical fitness have traditionally been identified as
cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, muscle flexibility, and body com-position (fatness) (Caspersen et al. 1985). The development of these components of
health-related fitness (HRF) has been related to specific ‘health’ or disease outcomes.
