Sensemaking is thus an important means of dealing with uncertainty (Weick, 1988 and Weick et al., 2005). When firms go public, corporate managers and capital market actors face new challenges. Managers must prepare for uncertainties arising from being listed on the stock exchange, and they must respond to new situations as they arise. Financial analysts must handle the uncertainty surrounding the need to quickly analyze a new company about which they know little (Pollock and Rindova, 2003).
