investigated.Theeffectofcyclicnumbersonthemicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesofthe
experimentalsteelwasdiscussed.Inthepresentwork,eachcyclicheattreatmentconsistedofashort-
duration(5min)heldat1043K(aboveA1temperature1003K)andashort-duration(3min)heldat
953 K.Thespheroidizingratioofcementiteandtheaveragesizeofparticlesgrowwiththeincreaseof
cyclic numbers.Afterfivecyclicheattreatments,thecementitespheroidizescompletely,theaverage
size ofcementiteparticlesisabout0.49 mm andthelargerparticlesratioisbelow4%.Aftercyclicheat
treatment,theplasticityoftheexperimentalsteelclearlyincreases.Theelongationoftheas-
transformedspecimenisabout8%,theelongationofthe1-cyclespecimenis25.4%,andtheelongation
of the5-cyclespecimenreachesapeakvalueof33.9%.Theultimatetensilestrength(UTS)ofas-
transformedspecimensisabout680MPa,andtheUTSofthe1-cyclespecimendecreasestoabout
620 MPa;however,theUTSofthe3-cyclespecimenincreasestoabout650MPa.Theratioofyield
strengthtotensilestrengthisabout0.70aftercyclicheattreatments
