Finally, what if you are saving a JPEG with no intention of ever
putting it on the net, but rather just print the largest print you
can reasonably print from it? Let's say you start with an image
that is already JPEG because it is from a point and shoot, do just
a couple of very minor touch-ups, and then want to save it for
other-than-internet use.
I guess you would save the edited image as a copy (if you want to
retain the original). I also guess you'd probably choose the
maximum quality setting (12). But you'd also have to choose
Baseline, Baseline Optimized or Progressive. Your choice results
in different sizes for the image, so I imagine it must make a
difference in terms of quality.
