Situation 2: Solar PV System Installation
Detail of the case:
There is an electricity blackout which always occurs in Yangon, Myanmar. This causes trouble for our people working in the company branch almost every day. Sometimes the blackout lasts 2-3 hours, and people cannot use any kind office appliances such as computers, fax machines, wireless internet, copy machines, etc.
The global warming trend is very common among countries around the world. Solar PV (Photovoltaic) is one of the environmental friendly tools that can generate clean energy. Furthermore, this kind of product is very interesting to study and develop as the company’s new business in the near future, so we decided to install the solar PV system to generate electricity in order to use it during the blackout at the Myanmar office. After installing and utilizing it, we could learn and study about how to install and operate the system, and measure its efficiency in order to obtain information for our business development in the future.
The installation of the 6.2 kW Solar PV system should take about 15 days. Now we are on the 10th day and the job progress is still following the plan. The foundation of the solar panel arrays on the yard has already been completed. The 2AJB (array junction boxes), control box, batteries, battery charger, and inverter are already installed. All the wiring of the cables has been completed. Now we’ve just received the solar panel, which will take 5 more days to install on its prepared structure. The next step is completing the solar panel installation job and conducting a commissioning test on the system.
