Person–organization fit was measured by five items on a 7-
point scale (1: strongly disagree to 7: strongly agree) based on
Edward (1991) and Valentine et al. (2002). Person–organization fit
items included ‘‘I feel that my personal values are a good fit with
this organization’’ and ‘‘this organization has the same values as I
do with regard to concern for others.’’
Respondent turnover intent was also measured on a 7-point
scale (1: strongly disagree to 7: strongly agree), as developed by
Cammann et al. (1979) and Seashore et al. (1982). The turnover
intent items included ‘‘I sometimes feel compelled to quit my job
in my current workplace’’ and ‘‘I am currently seriously
considering leaving my current job to work at another company.’’
Table 2 lists the descriptions of measurement items for the
constructs of the study. Part four contained questions about
participant demographic information (e.g., age, gender, and
education level) and job-related information (e.g., type of
company and job status).
