5.4. Cross validation
In order to test the generalizability of the calibration data, the resulting SVO factor structure, nine first-order and three second-order factors were examined using the holdout sample. Additionally, validity was checked with the same tests―convergent validity, discriminant validity, and nomological validity. They yielded no apparent results contradictory to those of the calibration data. It demonstrates that the results from the calibration data can be generalizable to the holdout data.
