• Introduce participants to the module outline and content
• Take participants through Activity 1 in a participatory and interactive manner. Ask questions of the participants and allow them to share their responses with the larger group (Slides 3, 4 & 5)
• Select 3 participants to role play Scenario 1 wherein 2 participants play the role of the snack counter staff and one becomes the customer. After the 2 minute role play ask the rest of the group as to how the counter staff should have behaved. Now share what would constitute correct behaviour in this scenario and ask the three participants to re-enact the role play displaying the correct behaviour (Slides 6, 7 & 8)
• Select 2 participants to role play Scenario 2 wherein 1 participant plays the role of the shopkeeper (bag seller) and one becomes the customer. After the 5 minute role play ask the rest of the group as to how the salesperson should have handled the situation. Now share what would constitute correct behaviour in this scenario and ask the two participants to re-enact the role play displaying the correct behaviour (Slide s 9, 10 & 11)
• Select 5 or 6 participants to role play Scenario 3 wherein 1 participant plays the role of the vegetable seller and the others become the customer. After the 3 minute role play ask the rest of the group to share how they would feel as a customer if they encountered this salesperson. Now share the correct behaviour for Scenario 3 (Slides 12, 13 & 14)
• Select 2 participants to role play Scenario 4 wherein 1 participant plays the role of the shopkeeper (at the Electronics Merchant) and one becomes the customer. After the 5 minute role play ask the rest of the group as to how the salesperson should have behaved. Now share what would constitute correct behaviour in this scenario and ask the two participants to re-enact the role play displaying the correct behaviour (Slides 15, 16 & 17)
• Now ask participants to read about the qualities of a good salesperson.
