The present study examined urine proteins, fibronectin and thioredoxin
at presentation and in follow-up urine samples in cats
with obstructive FIC. Compared to the healthy control cats, significantly
higher concentrations of fibronectin and thioredoxin were
detected in the FIC group on the day of presentation, but significant
decreases in either candidate protein were not observed over time.
These findings might reflect on-going pathological structural alterations
and functional processes in the bladders of cats with
obstructive FIC.
