urged the ASEAN Member States to commit themselves to taking up the offer by INTERPOL to conduct the National Cyber Review (NCR) in their respective countries in order to identify the capability gaps and tap the resources available at IGCI to raise their capabilities. Brunei Darussalam also said that while the review could be voluntary, ASEAN needed to align its approach and practices towards handling cybercrime since the region faced similar cyber threats. Brunei Darussalam suggested that the NCR be conducted as a committee to ensure that it gets the strong support of all ASEAN Member States. The stakes are high, considering the fast rate of technological change and ASEAN Member States would need to strengthen and enhance their capabilities to keep up with the evolving cyber threat. Thus, the ASEAN community needs to be closely networked to tackle the issue. He further noted that SOMTC should focus on cybercrime, not the entire spectrum of cyber security.
