Daehyun gently tapped his fingers against the cool metal railing, watching as the sun slowly rose in the sky, admiring how the orange and yellow mixed into the clear blue. His thoughts almost immediately went back towards Youngjae, remembering how he'd tightly wrapped his arms around the younger man and how he'd leaned back into him, neither saying a word as they watched the sunrise together. A long sigh passed his lips as he forced himself to think of the work that he needed to get done today. There was a shipment coming in – almost $8 million worth of and it was imperative that things went right. He couldn't afford to lose so much money, not after the last shipment was seized. It was stressful and he knew the government was on high alert for any drug shipments.
The man rubbed his forehead, wondering when the last time he'd felt so stressed was. Never. Daehyun thought. Not until him. He needed to get past this, to focus on important matters but no matter how hard he tried, his thoughts always went back to him. Yongguk had tried talking to him again, telling him it was time they ended his life and that his suffering had gone on long enough – Daehyun had refused. Not yet, it wasn't time. He would kill him, it just wasn't the right time. At least, that's what he told himself over and over again. But, he knew – the truth was, he couldn't kill Yoo Youngjae. He thought back to the conversation he'd had with Yongguk.
“I don't want to kill him either.” Yongguk admitted after a long silence. Daehyun immediately turned to face him, unable to hide the surprise on his face. “I liked him a lot too. It's a shame but, he needs to die. He's making us weak.”
How could he do it? How could he bring himself to end Youngjae's life? Daehyun knew he needed to, that things had gone on long enough but he couldn't. Not yet, not yet. The man felt like he was falling apart and Youngjae was winning. In his mind, it was so easy – the image of himself putting a bullet through Youngjae's head after he had made him beg for forgiveness, mercy. It was so ing easy in his mind but it was different actually seeing Youngjae. Hearing him cry out in agony, him whimper his name, looking into his pained eyes – Daehyun couldn't stand it.
There were no happy endings for people like him, he knew that; people like him didn't deserve happy endings. Daehyun took in a deep breath and stood up straight. No more excuses, no more sitting around. It was time to end things, once and for all.
But first – he needed Youngjae just one more time.
