units based on geology, morphology and soil characteristic. The
main land type in the study area was river alluvial plains
(Mahler, 1970).
Land unit 5.1 was included as river alluvial plains. This land
type was characterized as deep soil with a moderate-to-heavy texture,
has low salt and is permeable, making it suitable for cultivation.
Therefore, the lowest score of 2 was given this land type.
Land unit 5.6 consisted of very deep and heavy soil with high
alkalinity and salt. It was covered by salinity resistance plants in
a low canopy cover. It was considered as barren land. It has low
porosity and low water permeability. It was the best candidate for
landfills and was given the highest score (10).
