2.2. Scaling laws
A centrifuge model in flight is subjected to an increased gravitational field which is the product of 1 g and a geometrical scaling factor, N, to which model dimensions are scaled down
relative to the prototype. Scaling laws defining the relationships between model and prototype response parameters were derived by Schofield [17] and are shown in Table 1. Unless otherwise
stated, parameters presented in this paper are in prototype scale.
