As shown here, there is little in the data from this study to indicate that e-government, at least among U.S. local governments, has consistently produced results that match up well with early claims about e-government. Th is leads us to conclude that local e-government in the United States is moving slowly or incrementally rather than delivering transformative change, a fi nding that is consistent with other empirical works (e.g., Coursey and Norris 2008; Norris and Moon 2005).
