Researchers generally reported effect size in the majority of the quantitative studies
examined. As depicted in Figure 3, there has been a decline in the total percentage of
quantitative studies reporting effect size since 2003. This is especially alarming even at
this late date as advances in statistical methodology suggest and the APAPublication
Manualstrongly encourages that to properly interpret findings in quantitative
analyses; one must report effect size to determine practical significance. Reporting effect size is essential, and in most instances better than reporting only statistical
significance.
