3. Chelsea, Conte have many problems to address
Conte has many problems, possibly more than he or Roman Abramovich realised when he took the job in the summer, but there is one massive glaring issue that needs solving quicker than anything. It is that painfully slow defence, and particularly the unsuitability of Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill to his high back line.
It was a big factor in last week's defeat to Liverpool and was even more influential here. The duo's inability to play with the energy that Conte requires gifted Arsenal the space and time that allowed Wenger's side to look so good. One of the defining images of the game was Ivanovic watching on forlornly as Iwobi again raced past him.
The real concern is that the problem is not just confined to the defence. Because of the specific way that Conte plays, it creates problems for the whole side. The midfield can't play as high because the defence needs protection, and there is then a huge gap up until the forward line.
There are times when it seems Chelsea forwards have to cover large chasms just to link up. They couldn't reach Arsenal's level here, or even get close. Chelsea just looked pedestrian, and that is a big concern for a manager so famous for his intensity and energy. There was none of that. It should in fact be galling for the Italian that although he was supposed to come and introduce a new force to the Premier League, the team boasting the longest-serving manager so easily outran them.
But how does he fix it? At the moment, Conte doesn't seem to have the personnel. So many of Chelsea's senior players, especially in defence, look too leggy for his football. He got none of his first-choice signings in the summer -- even N'Golo Kante was second choice after Radja Nainggolan -- and it showed.
They badly need Kurt Zouma to come back to give that defence some energy, but that would just be the start. They were so quickly finished off here.
