Fig. 2 presents a sketch of the loop scavenging
(from [9]). This design is typical of racing engines
where the exhaust is finely tuned to produce the pattern
of pressure waves that maximizes the removal
of the exhaust gases. The present definition of the
transfer port and exhaust port openings is not yet optimized.
The reed valve on the exhaust as well as the
lamellar intake is not modeled.
