Influent pit – As I mentioned, the pit was ready as per plan but Veolia was demanding segregation of floating materials and silt coming in to protect the pumps. As mentioned by you, the work is on to create a trap for the floating particles as well as silt. Will be completed by 27th Jun. What surprises me is that this aspect was not taken into consideration at influent pit, at design stage itself ? If we are to segregate the floating particles and silt, then what’s the purpose of Rotary screen installed atop equalization tank ? Let me know if this screen will be useful anymore ?
Service water – Have been repeatedly instructing all to use what is provided until a permanent setup is provided. Your team is adamant about permanent set up and discontinued the use. Permanent set up will be ready by 29th Jun. Another disconnect that I have here is, no design consideration made by Veolia to use treated effluent for rotary screen cleaning. Veolia is asking us to supply 15 cu.m. / hr of RAW WATER at 4 bar for cleaning rotary screen ? I can understand for initial startup, but for sustained operation of WWTP, is raw water consumption of 300 cu.m. / day justified for cleaning ? Literally asking me to dedicate a tube well for this cause. How can Veolia help me here ?
Chemical preparation – Am listing basic details on physical state & package type of needed chemicals
Let’s take one at a time –
1) Urea – The mixing / dozing tank is 5 ft high. How do we dump urea from bags into the tank without a platform ? Agitator is provided for mixing.
2) FeCl3 – The dozing tank is 5 ft high. Again, how do we empty 50 kg metal drum into the tank ? No agitator provided for mixing ? Am sure Veolia will want ferric chloride in liquid form. But still how do we pour / pump into the tank ?
3) Polymers – Hopper opening at 6 ft high. How do we dump into hopper ?
These aspects not considered while designing ?
How can Veolia help me at this time ?
