That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but I picked Creativity, Inc up on a whim, more out of curiosity about Pixar than anything else. What I discovered was a lucid explanation of the creative process. Most of us, I believe at one time or another or maybe still do, fall for the illusion of relative ease at which artists (painters, writers, directors) present their final product. Catmull exposes the gritty truth: Great work requires great failure. Or, as an artist once said, "Art is work."
This book would do all of us good, artistic or not, to learn the creative process of embracing failure and change in everything we do.
