Wave and tidal data were also collected using two RBR-TWR 2050
tide and wave recorders (P1 and P2) logging continuously at 1 Hz. The
pressure transducers were deployed off the end of the groyne at a distance
of c. 30 m (P1) and c. 140 m (P2), respectively. P1 was located
at a depth of −2.5 m ODN in the trough between the low-tide terrace
and the offshore bar, and P2 was deployed at a depth of −4.25 m
ODN seaward of the offshore bar. A Datawell directional wave-rider
buoy moored in c. 10 m water depth offshore of Boscombe Pier, c.
1.7 km alongshore to the east of the field site, provided directional
offshore wave data during the field experiment (Fig. 1).
