Notice Yingluck is not accused of corruption, but negligence. Her brother’s conviction for which he fled Thailand, was for letting his wife buy an estate property for $25 million, which was said to be undervalued. Clearly a bogus claim, because it was sold at an open auction, and developers didn’t bid more because of zoning height restrictions that made it uneconomical.
It would be so completely easy to deflate the Thaksin’s power. The government could just pay some heed to the rural half of the population, and give them a fair share of their own country.
