3.5. One-pot conversion of grease to biodiesel (FAME) with the
recycling of the cells of recombinant E. coli strain containing tandem
lipases
The recycling and reuse of the whole cells of E. coli (Calb/Tll)
containing tandem lipases were examined under the operation
conditions described above. Biotransformation of grease with
methanol was performed with 4 wt% of dry cells at 30 C for
48 h. The cells were harvested, washed with tert-butanol, and dried
at 30 C for 2 h. The cells were then used for new batch of biotransformation
